Auto-Provisioning? Phone preference(s)?

I am tinkering with Incredible PBX and FreePBX. I am setting up 4 phones and am wanting to find out the feasibility (and cost(s)) associated to auto-provisioning them.

Also, as far as phones go, what brand do you prefer to go with? While tinkering, I've messed with Polycom, Yealink, Panasonic, Cisco, Grandstream, and several different brands of ATAs. Are any of them better than the rest? How about for auto-configuring? Are some of them just not going to work?
