Hi PiaF folks,

I'm still trying to get chan_mobile running so I can use my bt cellphone as an FXO/FXS... I know this is not "mainstream" PiaF, but many of you are using it...

I'm 99% there... The problem is, everytime Asterisk tries to pair with my Moto V3, I put in 1234 (which is the pin I configured), and it keeps saying it is an invalid pin. I even tried it with my Moto Q (thinking it might be a phone issue) to no avail.

Being a Verizon Wireless customer, I'd love my PiaF to be "In-Network" :-)

I've scoured Google and have not seen any posts related to this issue.

Any thoughts?

How did you implement chan_mobile? Apply the patch and recompile? I have heard reports that the 1.6 version of asterisk has it fully working..... if you feel lucky that is 8^)

Now THERE is a reason to try 1.6 out. I still have not had time to setup 1.4 with all the features I want running. Sigh ...

I have a treo 700wx that I would just LOVE to be able to call out free nights and weekends using my asterisk extensions.

OH well ... there goes the weekend doing research on 1.6

Hey keep some notes if you would not mind and pass them on so I can tweak the update-source16 program as needed. BTW the 16 addons does have chan_mobile already enabled. I had to install some extra stuff to get it to enable but all seems good now.

Tom

ok now you made it just to easy not to try it Tom.

I will see how much time I have this weekend to give it a go.

I am running under vmware currently so now worries if it doesnt work out under 2 minutes I am back running 1.4.

I will give you some feedback on how it all went Tom.

Thanks.

I'm in to try 1.6...

But I won't try it on my "production" home PBX... that won't be wife-approved.

I have a spare box I can throw it on.

This PiaF is so addictive, it's going to become a full time biz for me sometime soon (really). I'm 95% sure I'll be coming to the FreePBX training.

This is good as the whole PIAF dev team will be helping out at the event 8^)

Tom

I am going to the FreePBX training also. We could always break off into a seperate study group W1ve and work on getting chan_mobile to work during some of the offtime during the week. Mattering on of course if you can go. Someone there might be able to point us in the right direction if we still cannot get it to work.

I know I am bringing my laptop with vmware workstation on it with me. I will make sure to have at least one base install of PIAF on it to mess around with. (hopefully both 1.4 and 1.6)

I will of course have my cellphone and will grab my bluetooth adapter.
(not sure if the one in the laptop will work yet havent tried)

maybee one of us will have it all working by then who knows.

I have gotten chan_mobile to install on 1.4, it pairs with the phone, rings an extension, rolls to VM, does all the stuff I'd expect for inbound, but no audio. I haven't tested outbound yet. Searching elsewhere has indicated it is either my BT adapter or that I need to be on 1.6. I have a Kensington USB 2.0 adapter, and I am willing to shell out for a different adapter if that will get the job done. Has anyone had any luck with audio yet?

I have tried pairing to an HTC TyTn which works (except for the audio) and also a Nok 6103b which doesn't find any BT devices (I powered off the headset I normally pair the device to, so that I could eliminate some confusion, I only add this to indicate that I know the BT works on the phone)

So, I guess I am asking if I should roll to 1.6 (I am not in production yet, just playing around) or hunt down a different BT dongle (and which dongle is suggested). Any input is appreciated.

That does look like a cool device, and I'll probably order one, cause I am a sucker for shiny gizmos. Unfortunately since the SIM card has to be inserted into the device, it doesn't meet the specific need I am looking for with Chan_Mobile.

Keep us informed on your experiences with the it though, as my interest is piqued.

*EDIT* Looking further at the specs, it is 900/1800MHz, so I can't use it. CONUS is 850/1900. Still interested though.

I should start a new topic...

But, for US, looks like:

VoiceBlue Enterprise - 2 GSM channels with Siemens MC56 modules 850/1800/1900 MHz (licence needed for GPRS, SIP proxy, SMS, SNMP)

What set of instructions did you follow to get it working to the audio part?

2n sounds to have the best product on the market but I guess you have to pay a good price for it. Sometimes, not worth it. How much did you have to pay for a 2 SIM one...

Well - I was able to get chan_mobile to install on 1.4. I was able to pair successfully with my Treo 650 but I was never able to get PBXiaF to answer the phone. It would show in the cli that it was answering and playing menus and stuff but the phone just kept ringing. I am going to try another phone and see what happens.

phinphan, what instructions did you use to get chan_mobile to install? I'm toying around with a test 1.4.15 system and second Bluetooth adapter I picked up.
