I'm not sure if this is possible,

Cisco's CCM now has a new feature included in thier latest IOS that does something pretty cool. I am sure it could be done in * but just not sure how.

A user has the option of doing a "call forward all" from thier handset to thier mobile phone.
When a call is forwarded in this way, it appears as though the call is "on hold".

So, when the user returns to their desk, they can just "resume" the call, it hangs up the mobile and continues the call from the deskphone.

I am thinking Zap Barge, but it would get complex because you would need to dynamically track the channel & use some kind of custom device state...

Any ideas?

Theoretically, you should be able to park the call from the mobile while the call is on progress, by using the ## to transfer, and pick it up again from the landline.

This will depend on a number of circumstances, e.g. carrier and delivery of DTMF.

This would be a great addition and feature to have - although it does sound like some form of SLA, which Asterisk doesn't support.

I've found the cell phone ## transfer to be hit and miss (more miss than hit).

I'de like to take it one step further and have the divert available during a call - You are speaking to someone on the phone but need to leave, press the divert button and the call automagically appears on your cell phone.

I know that this can be don via a transfer, but that would mean that the person was put on hold while the call was setup and answered. Much smoother to press a button, call is made to your cell phone, you answer and then it is automatically bridged.

Divert Feature

That is more a feature of FreePBX than that of PIAF. Remember that the PIAF guys roll it all together but don't really mess with the internals of FreePBX and its features. I'd recommend you submit and enhancement request on the FreePBX site.

You might want to look at Google Voice, too. I seem to recall that it had something similar.

I know and you are probably right that if one wanted to turn this into some form of module, then the FreePBX crew is the route to go.
I was thinking of something more in line with a small Asterisk and phone application (maybe this goes under endpoints?).
