I was able to follow Ward's new guide: http://nerdvittles.com/?p=635

The only thing is when I place a call using GV... It rings the destination (extension) configured for the ipkall DID, which when answered, will ring the number dialed from whatever line the dialing was made from. That original line is stuck indefinitely on hold/park unless someone hangs it up manually.

From what I understand from the article, it's supposed to put the phone on park, then say the magic number, followed by some MOH, and then rings the line dialed.

Ward made a comment to my comment on the blog, but I don't think that's the issue (since it isn't setup that way) and, because no matter what extension I dial out to the GV, it always rings the destination extension setup as the DID ipkall trunk inbound route.

I know there is probably some setting that isn't right or something, but it's driving me  and making me :banghead: for the past week.

Fixed the problem...Turns out I didn't have some settings correct in the inbound route. :biggrin5:.

I have the same problem. Can you be more specific as to what you did to fix it? TIA

Yes, I didn't know I was not alone ;).

I am using SipGate and this is what I did:
  • I went to the call parking settings, and made sure for terminate call >>> hangup. (I had it on terminate >>> busy)
  • Make sure for the custom-gv trunk that in the Outbound Caller ID, put the GV number. (I had it blank)
  • Make sure for the sipgate trunk (or ipkall) that in the Outbound Caller ID, put the GV number. (I had it blank)
  • For the GV-Callback inbound route, make sure the DID number is the ipkall or sipgate number and the caller ID number is the GV number and the destination is set to the custom gv-park. (I can't remember what I had, but just make sure it's this way.)
  • Then, so you can answer incoming calls made to your GV line, make sure you have another incoming route with the DID number set to your ipkall or sipgate number, but the caller ID number is blank. Set the destination to whatever you want to ring when someone calls your GV. (I didn't have the the number in the DID number field.)
That pretty much fixed it all for me. If you have any questions, let me know and I can try to clarify anything that's confusing.

Thanks for they quick and detailed reply. I still don't have it solved but you've given me good food for thought. --Jim

Mine doesn't seem to be inbound related. I temporarily set it to all inbound/dids route to the google voice custom inbound destination, and it still didn't work
