Hi Guys

I am a newbie looking to install PBXiaF on a Dell SC440 for our office. I don't know anything about linux but am planning on taking on the task with the knowledge provided on this site.

I already have the server but looking for a card now. I was thinking of the Rhino R4FXO-EC only because its $400. I really don't want o pay more unless the $550+ Digium is that much better. The office has total of 5 POTS of which 4 will be used with PBXiaF.

thank you for your kind advice.

PS: Trixbox? Elastix? are they worth looking into? Any advantages?
Thanks

Hi,

I have had no issues with the Rhino R4FXO-EC

Cheers

I use Sangoma cards with echo cancellation. They are the most expensive, but they just work. Load PIAF, with the card in place and then follow the instructions on Sangoma's website to install the card drivers.

Good success with Rhino

I've got an R4FXO-EC and it works pretty good. The only problems I seem to have encountered appear to be the result of really high impedance on our POTS lines. We are a long way from our remote and James from Rhino has measured over 900 ohms on our lines. We are currently running a beta copy of their drivers that seems to have eliminated most of the issues.

I will say that the Rhino support guys give unparalleled service. It really has been the best customer service experience I have ever encountered. I'd buy Rhino again without reservation.
