FYI Google Chrome 'silently' downloads 4GB AI model to your device without permission, report claims

Google Chrome is silently downloading a roughly 4GB on-device AI model to users' machines without notice or consent.

Sounds like Google is learning tricks from MicroSlop.

Why is it so hard for these tech companies to provide opt-in/informed consent instead of forcing everything down users throats and reinstalling if someone dares to remove it?

Like the time Goolag got sued for continuing to track you even with the location service turned off.
