I am looking at the feasibility of replacing a few of my google voice numbers with a PIAF setup but am lost on the texting portion. Right now it is super easy as all my GV numbers are usable inside the GV app and I can send/receive calls through that app also. I want to start planning for a future without GV though. I know the call portion is easy, just transfer the phone number to a general voip provider like bulkvs or similar and point the trunks to my PIAF server. The problem comes in when I need to send/receive text messages. Is there an easy way to do this and have similar functionality to the current GV setup?

I second the recommendation for textable.co. Very good service and $5 per month is not bad. We use it for our office service and it is very helpful. Texting seems to be the least ignored of communication methods at this time. We only use it for existing clients and do no advertising, marketing etc and have explicit permission from everyone for use. Through bulkvs and textable we have had no issues, so far (knock wood) with rejected texts or campaigns.
