Vultr did some host updates over the weekend and my VM would not run afterwards. My trouble ticket was responded with a statement that the VM may have already been corrupted and the reboot revealed the issue but their changes could not have caused it. Fortunately, I was not longer actively using that VM.

I'm a little ticked off about it. I deleted the damaged VM and will not be putting it back. I'm just curious if any other Vultr users experienced any issues. This was in the Atlanta data center.

Well mine was unrepairable so I just deleted it. I can't get the same deal so I'll get another from Rack Nerds if I need it. Both times I've tried to use the Vultr backups, the backup fails. I'm taking a vacation from Vultr a vacation for awhile.

Did your monthly email from Vultr show the backups were successful?? Now I'm worried.

They did show successful. I tried this once a year ago and the restore did not work so I thought it was a fluke and reimaged the VM. This time, same problem: Backup cannot be restored. I deleted the VM (IPBX-2027 on Debian 12) and won't be restoring it since I'd moved everything to IPBX-2026 on Debian-13.

Like I said, I'm vacating Vultr for now. It might have been a serious problem with my particular installation but I have rebooted that VM many times without problems and I had a working PBX on it. It did not work when I tried to login the morning after the maintenance reboot. I was getting cloud.ini errors and it could not connect to the internet. IP tables would not run either. Asterisk and FreePBX would not run. It wasn't worth the effort to troubleshoot further.

I have a number of emails from Vultr regarding provisioning issues, but my Atlanta Debian 12 has been solid.
