Here Come the Scripts

Odd that shouldn't kill it.... course I run my environment with certain features relaxed so that could be the problem

Will patch in a bit

Tom

Sorry to take so long. I spun up a virgin piaf 1.2 - ast16 system on a real machine instead of a virtual machine to make sure it finishes without the "relaxed" dev environment present. It is still percolating away on a 32 and 64 bit machine just to make sure there is no difficulty on either platform.... I have posted the new version and you can feel free to try it. I will post later on if it is successful this time so you can wait or try it.

Tom

Hi All

Well after some debugging install-piafdev16 is working fine on 32 and 64 bit platforms. I just finished uploading the final version and it now ready for your testing.

Tom

from my log...

Do i need to drop back to a virgin install...??? the segmentation fault is worrying...

try reinstalling. while i saw this error also it did not cause a core dump. Turns out that it is the internal fax module that may be causing this. do the following and then reboot your system

cd /usr/src/asterisk-addons
make clean
./configure
make menuconfig

On the applications unselect app_fax
tap the F12 key

make
make install
make samples

I am testing the compatibility with spandsp and the current version of this. For the moment this should get rid of the problem after reboot. You will notice there is another couple of errors with the FOP server which needs to be reported to FreePBX but asterisk -rvvv works fine as does zttool etc. I may end up patching spandsp to get it to work will keep you posted.

Web MeetMe

Tom,
There was brief mention of the Web Meet Me 3 on here. I tried the script from the site with a fresh 1.2 install. besides a few typos on the site, once I did ./install it told me that I didn't have a valid PIAF installation and it stopped.
So...I read here and it said that the 1.1 version is still good so I installed that. Now I get an Apache access forbidden error...Workaround or fix?
Thanks.

Run update-fixes again after ANY and ALL MeetMe3 installs. Try that first, and then restart the pbx machine.

You may also have to rerun the master password script (if you use it), and it may be that this all has to happen in a special sequence.

The 1.1 version is still good for 1.1 installs and NOT 1.2 installs. Sorry you are on your own. I just tested the webmeetme3 on 1.2 - ast14 and ast16 and it seems to install fine.

Not sure why you would see the not a valid install but it is what it is...

Tom

Not sure either....

I am not sure either....I still cannot get into webmeetme....and actually, I did run passwd-master again as well as update fixes...I will reload though as I don't need to take any chances on this install for my customer don't want that 3 am call!
I will try 1.2 with meet me on my lab setup.

Why? I am definitely running on a valid PIAF system with all the latest updates

No Idea just tested it here on PIAF 1.2 Asterisk 1.4 both 32 and 64 bit on a fresh install and it works just fine. Perhaps you are running PIAF 1.0 or 1.1

Tom

Pretty sure I've got latest release

root@pbx:~ $ uname -a Linux pbx.local 2.6.18-8.1.15.el5 #1 SMP Mon Oct 22 08:32:04 EDT 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux root@pbx:~ $ cat /etc/redhat-release CentOS release 5 (Final) root@pbx:~ $ asterisk -v Asterisk 1.4.18.1, Copyright (C) 1999 - 2008 Digium, Inc. and others. I haven't a clue how to debug this. The install-codex.x file is binary. How does it determine that it's not running on a PIAF system?

Looks like you're right

I'll be darned. The older version doesn't cause that problem. I was certain I had downloaded the most recent version of PIAF. I don't know what happened, but I want the newer version. Can I upgrade without downloading the iso? How?

really there is no upgrade path. I have ceased to develop new stuff for PIAF 1.0 or 1.1 so if you want to take advantage of some of the new stuff coming down the pipe you will need to scrub and reinstall PIAF 1.2.

also it appears that centos will be releasing v 5.2 over the next few weeks so PIAF 1.3 can't be far behind, but all of the programs for 1.2 will run under 1.3

tom

Hey, thanks

Thanks Tom, Maybe I should hold on and wait for 1.3. What do you think? Any idea roughly (no commitment obviously) how long that may be? BTW, are you familiar with Adhearsion? Any idea if it would be compatible with PIAF? Yitzhak

No Idea maybe 6 months or longer just depends as we don't release stuff until we work out the bugs. I have no idea about adhearsion I have enough trouble keeping up with Digium's unrelenting changes.
