Sorry to cross post, but I really need to do some debugging. For that I need figure out how log output with the VERBOSE command. I'm probably doing something stupid ... but I'm not sure what ;-)

Can anyone tell me what I need to tweak in a fresh PIAF install to get it working?

Nope. I do not know enough about functions yet, to have a preference there ;-) I selected it up because it's in the Asterisk book I'm reading. But .. the console is too "busy" and volatile for this task. Can Noop() send output to a file?

Weird... I've tried a bunch of things and can't get it to write to the logs at all. Do you have any special config settings? Maybe I'm missing something .. sleep deprivation and all. Let me double check something...

Can you post the exact code you added to the dial plan to test that? I want to compare it to mine. See if I'm doing something different :/

Thanks for the detailed response. Unfortunately ... no change. Its a pretty new install of green, so I can't figure it out ... Then again I'm completely beat, and unfortunately out of time. I'm going to have to give up on it and do it the long way. (Geez, you know your brain is fried when it takes hours to figure out how to log a message ;-) Thanks for the help!

In the interests of closure, I had to reboot the host machine for something (I'm running PIAF in a VM.) After the restart, lo and behold logging started working. (I had already restarted the VM earlier, along with restarting other Asterisk stuff ... all to no affect.)

Rookie mistake. Don't I feel silly ... but hey, now I'm a silly developer who can write debug messages to the logs, so it is all good ;-)

Haha. Funny part is, I'm usually the one saying that to other people.

Well, I guess I took the old saying to heart today: "Anything worth doing, is worth doing well" ;-) (If you're going to make a mistake, make it a really good one!)
