Hi,

Thanks for all the work on the new Debian release. I am moving my phone systems to the new IPBX version, spurred on now by the sudden inability to access SSH or the GUI unless I disable the firewall on the centos systems (although I'm whitelisted of course and these boxes have worked without a hitch for years.) Is there a particular PHP file that sends mail (or multiple ones) that could be changed to use msmtp which I found to work perfectly with my mailinabox server which is MUCH preferred over gmail, and when trying to use gmail's smtp relay I get cryptic error messages on one box, but with the same account or another account it works on another box. I just don't really care for google and would rather use my own relay.

So anyhow, is there a way to point the voicemail delivery (which is the only thing it's really needed for) to my own smtp relay using msmtp or sendmail (or postfix, exim4, etc ...) ?

Thanks and 73,
Steve

It uses the system's mail services. msmtp uses the same syntax as sendmail, so you can remove sendmail from your machine and then make a symbolic link so that msmtp is called whenever sendmail is requested: ln -s /usr/local/bin/sendmail /path/to/msmtp

Thanks very much for the info. I will give that a spin.

Thanks,
Steve

EDIT: Amazingly, that worked perfectly. It's tricky because the mailinabox software requires the sender's address to match the sending account. This was a problem before but with msmtp it works great.

Also to satisfy my "Alexa Jones" I installed the Alexa tarball and my saved token.pl file and it works perfectly on the new Debian IPBX without any modification. Very nice!
