TUTORIAL HylaFAX / AvantFax for PIAF! - Parts 1-4

I'm going to-do a incredible backup and restore to a new server. I don't want to install incredible fax on the new server (dont need it).

What files would I need to clean-up after the restore to remove and left over fax configuration?

thx

I tried installing Incredible Fax as a Test Server here at the University. . . I just got the server fully working today and started the process, had to recreate a new Google Account to use a gmail then proceeded to successfully send faxes to our machine here. I am impressed. The only hiccup I had was the Windows Print Server was not Windows 7 Compatible, but with some digging I found http://sourceforge.net/projects/wphf-reloaded/ this link that does work with Windows 7 and the Avant Fax solution! Wow I really appreciate all the work that when into this, I've been trying to find a solution to desktop faxing without breaking the limited budget we have and this looks like a winner.

I'm trying and trying again to create new user on avantfax, but when I try to login with these new username and password, avantafax can't login

I downloaded [hylafax_mod-1.9.wbm.gz] and installed it into Webmin. The install was confirmed:

The following modules have been successfully installed and added to your access control list :
HylaFAX Server in /usr/libexec/webmin/hylafax (328 kB) under category Servers

However, trying to run the HylaFAX Server module gives me the error:

Error - Perl execution failed

Can't locate CGI.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/libexec/webmin /usr/local/lib/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 . /usr/libexec/webmin/) at /usr/libexec/webmin/hylafax/index.cgi line 25.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/libexec/webmin/hylafax/index.cgi line 25.

I then removed the module and installed version 1.8.2 but got the same error.

I just got back from vacation and AvantFAX no longer likes my password.

Anyone know the best way to recover/fix this issue?

I selected the option to reset the password and a new password was emailed to me. However the new password doest not work.

Dad311-

How did you exactly resolve the password reset issue with Avantfax. I have also tried the forgot your password link. It sends the new password, however the new password is not working. You said that you changed permissions of a file, can you provide the exact steps you took. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried a different browser?

K there is a way to change the password by directly editing the MySQL entry for it, but I am afraid I don't know exactly where it was, sorry. I used MySQLadmin to look for a table that looked like the right one and updated it. The password was not in clear text but it seemed to work in clear text then I changed it again in Avantfax and it re-encrypted it. My memory is very fuzzy on how I did this, but maybe that will get you started?

Ok, Thx. Can anyone expand on this to help? Still unsuccessful in accessing.

Hi,
I configured Avantfax and am receiving faxes successfully. I can see the faxes in avantfax inbox but they are not being sent to mail email.
I do however receive notifications on sent faxes from the system. Anyone has an idea on how or where can I configure my fax email server or how to tackle this issue?

Thanks,
