Hi everyone, if this is your issue, here is the fix...............go to settings, asterisk sip settings, chan-sip, and under NAT, IP configuration either select STATIC if have a static IP, or dynamic if not.

Or public if it is on a direct public IP such as most of the hosting providers.

I am not sure how NAT for Chan_SIP has an impact on fixing Call Recording since they are not related. I mean outside of the NAT screwing with incoming audio to the PBX.

So what was the actual issue that makes you think updating NAT/external IP settings fixed it?

cant answer that, found the suggestion online and it worked.
You can't answer to what the issue actually was? It wasn't recording when an extension made an outbound call to an internal extension? An external destination? Was it not recording when the extension received the call? How/when was the extension not recording? Or was it recording and there was dead air?

The only think I know was that when I went to attempt a recording for a test IRV from the recording module, I entered an extension to make the recording from and it recorded nothing, so I found in a forum to do what I mentioned in my post earlier and it worked immediately, the test PBX that I am using in my classes is in the cloud on a fixed IP and the setting was for PUBLIC, so I just set it to FIXED.

On a different subject, I am also trying or attempting to create an IAX trunk between Incredible and another running PBX (VitalPBX) which has a functioning queue callback module, as a solution of not having the callback module on Incredible, my teacher said this could be done using IAX trunk and a ring group, I do not think so, buy what do I really know, but he said the Incredible could from a queue breakout menu go to the ring group and the ring group would then dial the IAX extension in vital, that extension could then be associated with a separate queue callback queue allowing the caller from Incredible to use the callback function of the Vital. Does not sound kosher to me but I'm here to make as many mistakes as possible and try to learn something, I'll let you know the results, LOL.

They call recording module is tech agnostic. It allows you to enable call recording on a channel during a call flow that doesnt offer it. Such a not setting it in the inbound route but starting when an IVR is hit or an option is selected.

So adding call recording to the call flow is not related to the tech being used since it can be applied to many channel type including local channels.

So there was something else happening and trying to use the call recording module exposed it.

Now in regards to the queue callback, that's going to not be cut and dry.

- Caller breaksout from queue on IPBX
- Caller is sent to Vital PBX to ask for their callback
- Vital PBX makes callback to Caller when triggered (how is that triggered? A timeout? Position in the queue?)

Let's say it is just a timeout so now Vital makes the callback and the original Caller answers. Now Vital has to send this call back to IPBX, route it back into the queue and put the Caller back into a proper position in the queue, generally in position 1 so they are the next call to hit an agent. An IAX trunk is going to limit what information can be sent between the two systems.

Now if the callback is triggered by queue position, well that's a whole other bag of apples. How will Vital keep track of queue positions on a remote PBX queue?

Queue Callback is more than just calling back users. Keep in mind, I haven't even touched on a very important aspect of queues. Reporting. How does this get monitor, data collected and reports generated for callbacks that tell how many happened, how many were successful or failed (busy/no answer), how many might be waiting for a callback, etc.

There can be scenarios where the callback queue is waiting to callback 4 users but it's 5pm and all the agents are logging off. How will that be handled? When a callback is triggered at a time the queue has no agents and isn't accepting calls?

I hear ya and agree, but i think the flow would be this: caller calls my Incredible PBX, goes to IRV, presses 0, ends up in my queue, with only one extension (701) remember this is my project for school, hears the typical queue announcements, but then I have a breakout IRV set up at the 45 second mark, and that IVR says..........If you prefer not to wait in queue and have an agent call you back when available, press 1 at any time OR to leave a VM press 2. So if caller presses 1, that is set up in incredible to go to incredible ring group with one extension, the extension set up with the IAX (incredible regular extensions are 7XX, the IAX would be 8XX) the incredible ring group then connects to the Vital IAX extension, that extension is the only one in a queue callback module, not a regular queue, but the callback module queue, so that announcement would then ask for the callers correct DIS and Vital would then return the call, not Incredible. Ill try but will not work. At this point I am able to use my Incredible PBX just as good as my 3CX, Vital and FREE pbx, without the use of callback module, So I am really learning a lot from incredible, I even have a flawless connection with remote endpoints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no travlin man! But I must say, Vital and FRee are the best.

If the IPBX caller uses the breakout IVR which then routes the caller to VitalPBX, the VitalPBX is using the Asterisk queues module with their own callback queuing module. That means the VitalPBX will call back the caller with no knowledge of what is going on in the IncrediblePBX queue. It just cuts out the IncrediblePBX. The problem is, why would you have a call queue on IncrediblePBX and then a different queue on VitalPBX. Your call center on IncrediblePBX would not get the callback in their queue. Rather the VitalPBX would make the callback. This is not a workable solution.

Even with the remote queuing and such, you'd probably lose the caller-id information of the callback queued call when it comes back. More importantly, the VItalPBX callback queuing module would have no knowledge of available agents on the IncrediblePBX queue so when the person is called back, they would just get jammed at the back of the line in the IncrediblePBX queue. You're better off going with VitalPBX for the whole system or switching to the FreePBX distro and buying the queuing callback module.

Sounds correct, remember I'm just messing around and experimenting, trying new things. If I dont cock everything up then I'm not learning and having fun! LOL
