is there a good guide for a fresh install of Asterisk 16?

Years ago I set up a small install of Asterisk 1.8 and it was a massive pain to get going. Since then it's been solid but has been a side-side-side project. I decided I wanted to set up a real server for a new project and wanted to start from scratch with 16. I got the O'Reilly book but keep running into dumb problems, so far with the Linux (Centos) portion namely there is a page with yum and pip commands with some syntax and other errors (the pip installed was way out of date and wouldn't work for a bunch of commands) and an Ansible playbook that has problems.

I'm fine with the Asterisk side but I've already spent way too much time on these early steps and wanted to see if there was a good guide anyone knew about to start from scratch? I didn't see anything about this in the forum, but sorry if I missed it. Anything online either pointed to this book or told me to get FreePBX or some other over-the-top system.

Thanks,

With the Incredible PBX 2021 install on Debian 10, you can adjust the installer to load Asterisk 16 instead of Asterisk 18. Just follow the Nerd Vittles tutorial and edit the installer script.
