Hi all.
I had an issue with my router, and I had to reset it.
After I reset it, I noticed that my PBXIAF box was having issues connecting to the internet, and that my extensions were unable to connect.
Is there any way to reset it?
Thanks!

Make sure your port forwarding is correct and make sure you have no ip address conflicts. The reboot of the router could have messed up your dhcp ip addresses...

I reset the original port forwarding, but when I log into the PBX with Putty, it tells me that IP Connect is Offline...
Is there any way to tell it to re-set up all the networking settings?

If you reveiw this link you'll see what IP Connect does which is VERY simple... So... it seems you've got a very basic issue going on here. Can you ping from Linux? Your port settings would have nothing to do with pinging. You've got to get the router running normally rather than approaching this from the PBX's perspective. Perhaps you have a significant mis-configuration in your router or it did not reset properly. If all checks out you may have to temporarily introduce a new router to the situation or re-flash the one you have... really sounds like a router issue / mis-configuration.

ip connect generally shows that you can ping out to the internet. this is sometimes problematic. however if you can see the internet you are fine. what hardware are you running on and is it a virtual environment?

eventually i hope to have some type of notification that updates are available but finding a consistent method from the digium website is eluding me!

the code for ip connect pings google with a single ping and then if there is a response it indicates that ipconnect is online.

the eth0 function has some problems in vmware 32 bit also as the default pcnet32 device does not support mii-tools.

My problem is that none of the trunks or phones work...
Any ideas?
And I can log in from Putty, so the IP address is working.

Do you only have the one router? Is this a simple network? Can you browse the internet from a computer connected to the router.... more details pls

Do you have fixed IP addresses for your PIAF/Phones? If they are dinamic, a router reboot would assign new ones, causing the problems you mention.

Also, make sure your PIAF box can resolve DNS names. Sip goes bonkers when it cannot resolve domain names.

OK, to answer all the questions:
The network is a very simple network.
All the other computers going through there have normal access to the internet, once I reset it.
The IP phones should be logging into to the PBXIAF box, not vice versa, so even if the IP changed, that shouldn't matter.
How can I check if the box can resolve the DNS names?
I'm logged into it through Putty now...
Thanks all!!

I reset the DNS servers on the router, but some of my networked devices were still having issues, so I manually put the DNS server IP addresses in on each one.
How can I manually put in DNS servers on the PBX?
Thanks!

Edit the /etc/resolv.conf file:

domain mydomain
search mydomain
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Kinda got it working now, but I might just reinstall everything from scratch...
Does anyone know where the FreePBX backup files are saved?
