Does Incredible PBX do a great job with MCA/BCA/SLA? We're looking to replacing an aging Avaya IP Office which does a great job of this feature. We want it to work basically the same way it does now and not a call park or other workaround. Are there specific phones this works better on. Here's a little illustration, as best as text allows:

Secretary Phone (1001)
Ext 1001 - Appearance A
Ext 1001 - Appearance B
Ext 1001 - Appearance C
Ext 1002 - Appearance A
Ext 1002 - Appearance B
Ext 1002 - Appearance C
Ext 1002 - Appearance D
All appearances ring immediately

Boss Phone (1002)
Ext 1002 - Appearance A
Ext 1002 - Appearance B
Ext 1002 - Appearance C
Ext 1002 - Appearance D
All appearances ring after 10 seconds (this give time for Secretary to answer before the Boss has to); they show visual alerting immediately.

Boss' Side Phone (1003)
Ext 1003 - Appearance A
Ext 1002 - Appearance A
Ext 1002 - Appearance B
Ext 1002 - Appearance C
Ext 1002 - Appearance D
All appearances never ring - but show visual alerting immediately.

Either party can receive calls, place calls on hold, retrieve held calls, and place outgoing calls. Also, either party can pick-up and join an in-progress call just by pressing the line.
Visual indication of line-in-use and hold is consistent across all stations.

There seem to be many different ways of accomplishing this, and some IP-PBXs implement the Broadsoft methodology https://pubhub.devnetcloud.com/medi...BW-SharedCallAppearanceInterfaceSpec-R230.pdf
It also appears that some phone support this method and/or other methods.

Does Incredible PBX support this feature? Which method? What phones are compatible/best for this application?

Thank you in advance.

Shared call appearances are not supported on Asterisk and therefore not by IncrediblePBX. You can have multiple appearances of different extensions on multiple phones but "key system" functions where you can put a call appearance on hold and pick it up on the same button on another phone is not possible. The Broadsoft method is patented and would require fees to use.

If I had an IP Office system, I'd just keep it and the phones. It is too much of an investment to throw away. No open source PBX will provide the proprietary features found in Avaya, Cisco, or Nortel or other big-brand systems.

You can mimic this with parking+pickup+BLFs. I have numerous deployments where I do this. Some even use park+announce so when they park the call they record "Bob call on line 1" and that gets played back over PA speakers so Bob can go to a phone and pickup Line 1 on it.

Yes, I've had clients where they insist that instead of Park-1, Park-2 ... that they're labeled Line-1, Line-2 and they do the same. Typical like Samot say's ... receptionist answers the call, Parks them on Line-1, then hits their paging group for (sales, HR, etc) - and say's "Mrs. Smith on Line 1"
