This is the second PiaF box that I have setup up and the second time I have to figure out how to reset the root password for Mysql. I am locked out and nothing I try works for a password. I have used all the same pssword everywhere, including using the same password when doing the command passwd-master. In Webmin when I click on Mysql Database Server, it says "Webmin needs to know your MySQL administration login and password in order to manage your database. Please enter your administration username (usually root) and password below."

Why is this happening? Can somone help? The bad thing is I didnt bookmark the page that was finally able to help me reset the root passord.

If you haven't actually changed this password then log in using the default:

username = root
password = passw0rd

unbelievable!.....that is still the password. Now let me ask you....during the PiaF install isn't there a promt to set the password for Mysql? I thought there was and this is why i wasnt using the default password.

Thank you so much Steve

We don't change the MySQL password nor the Asterisk Manager password. There's no reason to do so. No one can take advantage of them without having access to your server plus your root password to snoop around and do bad things. :cool:
