Hi, I just got a new ISP that provided me a new all in one modem/router.

Problem now is when I try to boot the PIAF box on the new router it hangs at "Determining IP Information for eth0...".

Strange thing is I can see an IP has been assigned through the router admin console. But I cannot ping the PIAF box.

I connected back to old router and it boots without any problem.

Can anyone shed light on this? I'm stumped.

You shouldn't really run a PiaF server with a dynamic host address. It should be a static address. With dhcp, you stand the chance of having your server's IP address change when least expected. On the other hand, I don't know why your server should hang.

This is going to sound weird.

I have seen this happen before with all sorts of devices, not just Linux machines. I have seen this caused by bad network cables and/or bad network cards. In this case, if it is not the cable, it may be the NIC on the new router. Good luck getting them to change it out.

I wonder if setting a static IP for your PBX would fix the issue.
