Hi All,

New system built, it seems that i cannot get the config right. i can make calls from one extension to the other, when i call external # i go the error "all lines are busy to your call later". now if I call in from external, it keep on rigining without answer, but the phones wouldn't ring?

i have attached some diag i have done, if you can think of anything can help me please let me know.

Did you set up inbound and outbound routes ? Also, output from the CLI would be more useful.
 
Hi,

i have set up the inboud and the outbound routes. I have the Inbound goes to a Ring Group. i am not at the office now to test from internal calls. I can do from external, when i called the # in CLI was null like nothing going on when I made the call.

Looks like it is trying the wrong channels

starts with:

Executing [4016939@from-internal:8] Macro("SIP/1026-0000000b", "dialout-trunk,6,4016939,") in new stack

hits trunk 3,4,5 and 6...

I thought you mentioned you were plugged into 7 and 8...

I think you might want to try a trunk that is G0 so it hits all of them. Or make separate trunks for each channel and use the outbound route to use 7 & 8.

True i am only using trunk 7&8. they have the outbound set for them, not sure why it is hitting the other trunks first, althought i have a Truncks set up for each channel, 1,2,3,4..

Believe it or not, when i set the verbose to 5 (as you suggested) and restart the server, IT DID WORK. i can make inbound and outbound calls, as i did not change any of the configurations at all.

Thank you again, i will keep this open until i make it to office and test it on the spot.

Question for you: Not sure why but i always attend to make seperate trunks for each channel, and rename them 1,2,3,4 istead of the G0. do you recommend to keep the G0 for all of them? is that better and easier then going thru the entire entry set up for each trunk/channels?

G0 vs chanels 1,2,3, etc.....

It really depends on what you need to accomplish. You could put ports 1,2,3 in G0 and 4,5 in G1 or what have you.

The suggestion of "channelizing" the ports was more for troubleshooting than anything else.

btw, changing the verbosity of the CLI output could in no way affect the system operation.

How can we find out the cause of the issue so it would not happen again or at least would have an idea?

By any chance could be another system effecting this one. This system is in testing now, it has its own IP, Trunks. different then the one we have in production, but both are on the same subnett with the same gateway. for some strange reason yesterday the production system act up the same as the testing system, i had to shurdown the last one and restart the production to have it all working again.?

Idea?
