TIPS Nortel 1140e SIP Phone & PJSIP

I need to get traces from a 1140e set up as SIP then as PJSIP to see what’s different.

I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work with PJSIP. I have an old PAP2T analog adapter that simply will not work on PJSIP. Its the only chan_sip device I have left.

@Samot I was wrong about those NOTIFY messages.
@ostridge My pjsip config looks the same as yours.

I'm still working on this but I have found a difference between chan_sip & pjsip in the OPTIONS message sent when registration expires. Chan_sip sends a list of options, pjsip does not. The search continues...

Your outbound proxies are wrong. PJSIP needs a full SIP URI with the lr tag. Needs to be sip:192.168.1.242:5061\;lr

The / is needed to escape the ; since that is a comment flag

Well that was generated by the sip-pjsip switching control button. but it also works with your code. What exactly is the ';lr' for?
It is odd to me that field seem to be the only one with no help button ?

The lr stands for Loose Routing. Very common for proxies.

I finally had time to try this today and got it working. The trick was to put the PJSIP port at the end of the outbound and registration servers on the PAP2T. Thanks for the instruction.

I am now chan_sip free in my system.

Wow, it’s over four years since I did this and cognitive decline has set in. I have searched my laptop for the files I ended up with without any luck. They could be on my old laptop but I don’t know where to start. Sorry.

I have found some config files for the 1140e. I think I had to set 2 parameters to get PJSIP working. SIP_PING YES and USE_RPORT YES. Obviously these are specific to the Nortel Phones.
