OutCall is now Open Source

Too many margaritas. The open source piece is new, however.

Well this is news... I should remind that Bicom had released this as freeware nearly two year ago starting w/ v1.30 (if I remember right). There was a good bit of discussion about this on the forums of another distro (at the time). Regardless, 'promoting' to OSS is good to know!

The issue w/ OutCall has always been struggling with reliability across the various versions of Outlook... as such, I've continued to rely on AstTapi for being absolute rock solid. Now I'm hopeful and eager to move on with v1.50 provided it resolves or make some strides here. Thanx for the post!

Good!! I am glad everyone knows this is open source finally and that it is open game for improvement. I can see a Nerd Vittles/PBXiaF version in my crystal ball . . .

I hate to resurrect an old thread... but couldn't find anything else suitable... I'm looking for Outlook integration... is anyone using OutCall and if so what versions of outlook are stable? And are there any security concerns with opening another port?

I used to use Outcall with Outlook 2007. No issues.

The port IIRC is 5038 and It's only opened on the local lan on the pc's if needed. No need to expose it to the internet.
