While working on my Nortel phones I have found a parameter that will (I hope) allow these phones to work with pjsip. This parameter cannot be set in the IncrediblePBX GUI.
In my searching I found this post https://www.voip-info.org/forum/threads/cisco-7975-and-7961-config-in-elastix-2-5.17718/#post-115149 that lead me to pjsip.*_custom_post.conf.
Unfortunately all the pjsip.*.conf files don't have an include statement for the custom_post.conf files while other .conf files do. (cel.conf, iax.conf, sip.conf)

This post http://issues.freepbx.org/browse/FREEPBX-9810 suggests that it's a distro issue.

It's beyond my skill to fix this.

You sure? This is inside pjsip.conf for my Distro systems:

#include pjsip_custom.conf
#include pjsip.transports.conf
#include pjsip.transports_custom_post.conf
#include pjsip.endpoint.conf
#include pjsip.endpoint_custom_post.conf
#include pjsip.aor.conf
#include pjsip.aor_custom_post.conf
#include pjsip.auth.conf
#include pjsip.auth_custom_post.conf
#include pjsip.registration.conf
#include pjsip.registration_custom_post.conf
#include pjsip.identify.conf
#include pjsip.identify_custom_post.conf

I see a custom_post.conf for each.

Yes that is also in my pjsip.conf but the contents of pjsip.endpoint_custom_post.conf is not being loaded. Unless I’m doing something wrong.
I assume fwconsole reload is all that is required to have asterisk reread the config files.
BTW pjsip.endpoint_custom.conf is #included in pjsip.conf and pjsip.endpoint.conf so it’s included twice.

What do you have in the post file? Show the config.

[716](+)
allow_unauthenticated_options=yes
Yeah, that is the problem. You're not using the proper format for Chan_PJSIP. Since all the sections (endpoint, aors, etc) are named [716] the only thing that IDs them is the type=endpoint or type=aor. That logic has been applied to adding to an existing config section. You will need:

[716](+type=endpoint)
allow_unauthenticated_options=yes

See more details here https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Adding+to+an+existing+section

Thanks. That has worked to change the setting to yes. Now to test the Nortel phone...
