NO JOY Raspberry Pi clone disk

Good afternoon,

Quick question, if i wanted to clone my sd card to a new SSD or USB or SD card to keep as a reference and all settings intact and keep the existing working and make the new one bootable also so i can switch it if the 1st fails what would be the correct procedure?

I did try the procedure on the text document to clone to an SSD but it disabled the SD and enabled the SSD to boot.

How do i keep both disks active and bootable?
