Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a virtual number app that’s reliable and easy to use. My primary need is for verifying accounts, but I might also use it for small business purposes. Privacy is important to me, so an app with strong privacy features would be great. If the app offers a free trial or bonus credits, that would be a bonus.

Has anyone here used an app they’d recommend? I’d love to hear your suggestions and experiences.

Thanks in advance!

I can recommend a good VoIP app but there is no guarantee that banks and other financial organizations will allow you to verify your account with a virtual number. It seems they consider this a security issue.

Yeah, not even Viber will accept VoIP DID numbers

my google voice number has worked for years with banks and others for 2fa

I have had mine since even before it was called Google Voice, but I do see some things that will not allow me to verify with it.The ownership of the number is listed as Level 3 Communications so it gets rejected because of that.

I also find that my Zadarma VoIP system works for verifications, but I have seen others do have issues with verifying accounts with virtual phone numbers, so I do not want to claim that this, or for that matter, any other VoIP system will work with every bank, insurance company etc.

If you're looking for a reliable virtual number app, I’d recommend checking out a few options that I’ve used. Some apps can be a bit clunky or have privacy issues, but I’ve had a good experience with Mobile Number. It’s pretty easy to use, and you can quickly get a number for whatever purpose you need, whether it’s for signing up for services or just keeping your personal number safe. I like how straightforward it is, without too much unnecessary stuff going on. If you need a simple, dependable solution, give it a shot with temp mobile number!

The original poster is looking for an application that they can use for verifications. Can you recommend a VoIP app that definitely will work. As I said in a previous post, Zadarma works fine for me, but am not certain it will work with every possible bank, insurance company, government agency or other body requiring verifications.

I’ve used it for a while, and it’s been solid. Call quality is good, and the interface is easy to work with. What stands out to me is how well it integrates with phone systems, making it useful for both personal and business needs. The pricing is fair, and they offer a decent number selection. It’s not overloaded with unnecessary features, which keeps things simple and efficient.

Although it is not an app, you can use our website https://www.buylocalnumbers.com/mobile-numbers-menu.html

I was using Google Voice for account verifications, but kept getting rejected on WhatsApp and Discord. Switched to sms-verification-number.com - got a US number with Verizon compatibility. Code arrived in about 50 seconds. Since it’s a real SIM-based number, not VoIP, the service accepted it without issues. Used the same number later for a Microsoft sign-up - still active within the 20-minute window.

FYI: Registration and your credentials required through Russian web site.

Hey guys. I’ve had the same problem as ahmadfatoni, most sites just won’t take VoIP numbers for verifications. Even for personal use, it’s hit or miss. Like KNERD said, even Viber rejects them, so a SIM number is usually the safer bet.
At work (I'm in B2B SaaS), we’ve been using CloudTalk for small business phone support. We got a US number (as that's where most our customers/leads are) for $6 activation and $4/month and the setup was quick, and you can pick local or toll-free numbers in a bunch of countries. It’s been solid for global reach without needing real call centers. Worth comparing with other brands like Zadarma or Nextiva too.

Been using similar services for a while and the experience really depends on stability and pricing. For me sms-man works best since it’s consistent, easy to use, and you get a good selection of numbers without overpaying. Nothing complicated, just works when you need it.
