I am a complete newbie at phone systems. Our company has a Nortel PBX and two (2) 66 Blocks that support only 4 phones. Now we are having our providers switched to Time Warner Cable Business Class Phone. Now we have three (3) lines being installed, and three (3) lines being ported, but no new lines being added. There is a ported number that's BTN and then two (2) other numbers being ported. What I need to know is how do i set up the phone system to the new numbers? I know this must be simple but again im a complete newbie.

not really sure if this is the right forum for this. It sounds to me like you would need to hire someone with telecom experience to come and get this setup right.

Why so many different #'s? We have PIAF set up in our office and only have 1 number? :) Do you have different companies for the other numbers?

Every application is different.

The office where I work (my "day" job) has 30+ DID numbers because every (almost every) person has a direct dial number from the old days.

When we went to a hosted PBX solution the owner was offered a huge cost savings by switching to a single DID + dial for extension. The cheap SOB opted to keep the DIDs.

Well, I dont know why we have so many numbers, I am just looking at what TWC gave me. I was not there when it was decided. I just need to know if there is anything I have to do that is different other than connecting the delimeter point to the system. actually I dont know how to hook up the incoming line to the 66 blocks or the PBX. I guess im going to be in big trouble.
