Simple Hotel Style Wake-Up Calls – THE MODULE

Hi magic!
Im not sure I follow your questions.
I'm not sure what you refer to when you say installing PHP. No special PHP installation is required. PBXIAF has all you need.
Can you tell me more about what loop of development you are describing? The module is still maintained -
Sorry - I think Im just missing something about your points. :)

tshif, thanks for the module, works great!

Question for you....

I have been using the wake-up script from here: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+tips+Wake-Up+Call+Perl for a long time and while yours is great too, would it be possible to add the recurring wake-ups from that one into yours?

I own two long term stay motels and the guests really like the abillity to set recurring wake-ups.

And thanks again for the module.

Hi Bob;
Always willing to look into stuff like this - let me have a look and get back to you. Thanks for asking!

Bob -
I looked through the code you mentioned. I like it - but at first glance I think its a completely different code base than whats in the module today. I had hoped they might share some ancestry - it would have made it easier for me to do what you ask. I didn't write the wakeup modules principle code - its one of the many open source versions floating around the www. I'm not a good enough programmer to integrate the functions you wanted.

However - you may have just read about the new developer site designed to make it easy for folks to contribute in just this way. Perhaps one of the "High IQ" guys/gals will see this as their chance to jump in and help out!

Not presently. However - that would probably be easier to implement than the password you asked about earlier.

Has anyone else been set back by the need for something like this? Would it be helpful (to more than cajunsniper) to be able to specify a prefix code in the Hotel Wake up Interface for route selection?

Feedback requested - please chime in in you have an opinion.

Thanks for looking in to it, tshif.

I love this Add-On!

I have installed Wake Up Calls and it seems to be working great but I have two small problems:

1. I live in Arizona and have both server time and PHP time configured correctly, but wake up calls happen one hour earlier than the time for which they are scheduled. I could correct this by changing the server time, but I was wondering if there was a better way?

2. On the Wake Up Calls configuration page in FreePBX, anytime I click "submit" I get the following error"
Warning: Missing argument 1 for hotelwakeup_saveconfig(), called in /var/www/admin/modules/hotelwakeup/page.hotelwakeup.php on line 7 and defined in /var/www/admin/modules/hotelwakeup/functions.inc.php on line 44
The changes seem to take effect, but it still bothers me.

Any ideas?

P.S. I am planning on taking PBX In A Flash for a test-drive, but I am so familliar with Ubuntu, I hate to change.

Bug submitted to tracker. http://projects.colsolgrp.net/issues/show/78

This is a php warning, and it should be fixed, but in the meantime, you might wish to turn down your php error reporting level so only errors are displayed and not the warnings. That would be one way to stop the error message if its bugging you.

Thanks for letting me know about the issue.

Thanks for prompt attention

Any ideas on the timezone issue? AZ does not use daylight savings and I am assuming Wake Up Calls is using MDT in plase of MST, but I do not know>

It uses your system time. It makes no adjustments to the clock as it finds it on the platform. It is blind to time zones, and Daylight saving times.

Do you get the correct time when doing a date command at the cli?

Time troubles

Yes, furthermore when I dial for the time I get the correct time. I have checked into the following article:

freepbx.org/forum/freepbx/tips-and-tricks/incorrect-server-time-on-the-time-conditions-page

and while my PHP date.timezone = was not set, I set it to date.timezone = America/Phoenix and restarted the server. My closest guess is that wake up calls are happening in Mountain Daylight Time, while Arizona continues to use Mountain Standard Time all year.
