Switching Issues

I am to using my PIAF in a commercial environment. The problem I am having is that PIAF can't seem to switch the calls fast enough. Whenever the client completes a call and hangs up, my server releases the channel, but the client has to make several tries while sending the next call before my server will connect the call. I just used a single channel scenario for explaining, this is actually happening on multiple channels.

My current client is using a Nextone switch and the client before was using a Sonos switch. Are there any changes I can make to the configuration of my server to solve this problem?

You should probably try being a bit more descriptive...

Like the exact scenario (SMB, Hospital, Call Center, etc...) and how many stations on what kind of network and what is the call volume....

Oh, and what hardware you have Asterisk on?

The exact scenario is wholesale call termination. The number of channels are 8. But, I find that the number of channels did not matter, I've tested it with one channel and the result was the same, if the calls are coming too fast PIAF just cant seem to handle it.

Can anything be done to tweak the answer supervision of asterisk? Is it an answer supervision problem?

I'd set verbose to 5 or more and examine to output. There will be a clue there or in the logs. If still not clear, post the results.

I'll guess you have loop start trunks that don't provide disconnect supervision towards asterisk. So it ends up taking a bit longer to hangup the call.

Try a SIP trunk from Vitelity for example.
