Hey @wardmundy, thanks for sharing this. Quick run down before you or anyone else (hopefully) kick the tires.

Frogman's an Open Source FreePBX 17 module that exposes the PBX through three surfaces. (1) an in GUI chat console, (2) an MCP server (Claude Desktop, Cursor, anything that speaks the protocol), and (3) an HTTP API for integrations. Currently 226 tools behind all three, with a full audit log with a confirm before write gate.

FYI for the purists- everything routes through documented FreePBX surfaces... BMO, AMI, GraphQL, fwconsole, etc. so it survives upstream updates. Licensed AGPLv3.

⚠️ Up front: this is experimental. Don't run it on production yet... test box only please - This will be a signed module very soon.

From my seat, the MCP side is what matters. Here are a few parlor tricks worth mentioning.
  • Hand the agent a voice memo describing a PBX, watch it spin up extensions, IVR, time conditions, and an inbound route in one pass.
  • Feed your MCP client a full FreePBX backup and ask it to restore just a few extensions- it works surgically to restore just the things you've asked for
  • Drop a 3CX backup in the chat and have the agent reconstruct the logic on FreePBX. Resellers are going crazy over that one considering recent events.

Thanks again for the share - Looking forward to your feedback!
