SOLVED Unable to Login to UCP

I have never used the UCP so I don't know if this has ever worked for me.
Pi4, IncrediblePBX2021. Opened UCP and enter extension and password and I get the message Invalid Login Credentials.
freepbx_security.log has entries [freepbx_security.NOTICE]: Authentication failure for 712 from 192.168.XXX.XXX [] []
I copied the extension secret and also tried the extension voicemail password without success.

So I'm looking for suggestion on where to go from here.

From memory if you set the password in the extension#/voicemail config first, back to the default which would be '701' the same as the exten# it prompts the UCP to ask (force) you to change your password, from the UCP. Maybe that needs a bit of explanation somewhere?

From the GUI, go to Admin > User Management. Set the password there.

UCP got more complicated from Ast15 as User templates are configured through user manager

Starting in UCP version 15, a new UCP Template feature has been introduced to allow PBX administrators to create UCP templates that can be applied to existing UCP users, or automatically applied to new users when they are created.

Trouble is if you use the UCP as if it were the phone who is the 'user' perhaps with user=phone set; then you probably don't want to go into the Admin/User management at all. But as @kenn10 above that is where the reset UCP password gets set or stored.

For a user with a current IncrdiblePBX system with few extensions and to cut through the verbiage above: From the GUI, go to Admin > User Management. Set the password there.

@ostridge From what I can tell, stock install of IncrediblePBX 2021 does not have a tab for UCP Templates. At least none of my recent installs show that.

Just the UCP password. Use extension and this password to log into the UCP panel. Once logged in, you have to set up your dashboard for what you want to see on it.
