I am helping a friend with his PBX. He has on premise 3CX Ver 20. His IT person insisted in changing his firewall from PFSENSE to UNIFI Dream Machine. At the time of changing the firewall I also updated 3CX from Ver 18 to 20. Now there are random issues with the PBX loosing connections to trunks and/or external VOIP phones. 3CX has a firewall check and if fails because incoming port 5060 is remapped to something else when outgoing. I pointed the issue to the IT person and he keeps saying this should not be an issue and it must be related to the upgrade of 3CX from 18 to 20.
From what I recall reading, it is important for the port 5060 not to be remapped for the outgoing, PFSENSE has a setting to preserve the port, i keep telling the IT person needs to find a similar setting in the UNIFI Dream Machine.
Am I wrong thinking port 5060 needs to be preserved and not remapped for outgoing?
