TIPS Upgrade from 1.2

We have a client that we took over this phone system for that is running CentOS5.2 with, from what i can tell, Pbx in a flash 1.2.15 (release data is april 2010). We are wanting to upgrade them to the latest version, as well as move them off the old hardware they are on. What is the best upgrade path for them?

Re-installation on new hardware, followed by side by side copy and paste using the web interface.

Have 2 windows side by side and just go through it. It's labor intensive, but about the only way to really do it without screwing stuff up.
