On the topic of running PiaF on a virtual machine, I have had great success with Virtualbox. It's free and it's fast. I don't get any choppy sound. I'm running a PiaF demo on my Macbook using Virtualbox and it's much better (and cheaper) than Fusion or VMware.

Hope this helps someone looking for a good virtualization solution for PiaF.

I have to say I like virtualbox over VMware. I haven't used fusion as I use the mac for graphics not development.

Setup Tips?

Dadbee and James,

Can you give a basic idea of what is needed to get an image running on Virtual Box?

+1 on hearing the details for VM PBXiaF on VBox.

What are the direct benefits in regards to VBox being better than than the free VMWare player?

I'd like to give it a try, but the current version of Virtualbox doesn't run on Windows 2000. I have an existing 2000 server that runs pretty much everything in the house, and used the VMWare image on it before with success. Someday I'll retire that box and start running a Centos server for everything!

Virtualbox VDI

I am wondering has anyone thought about creating an actual PBXIAF VDI? Or did it just work out the box with using the 1.4 ISO? Also, for people running virtualized PBXIAF under Windows. Did you set it up as a service or on top of a Windows login? If setup as a service, what is the process of doing that?
