Hi rebooted the system and now when i log into the command prompt the information is jumbled up and i cant type commands.

The system is working and i can get into free pbx.

any ideas? Please?

If I am understanding this, you can access the box from the web page, but when you log in directly on the box the output is scrambled and you can't type on the local keyboard?

not exactly not a very good explanation sorry!

I have the system running on a vps on the internet. I can gain access to the web page free pbx configuration. I can gain access to sftp. When I try to log into the shell with my "root" username and password. That screen is messed up and i can not enter any commands. The system is working however I just can not issue any commands. Thanks for your help!!

text from screen below: Oddly the text below looks better than it does on the screen.

Resolved

You could use the console login from the hardware node and issue two MAKEDEV commands.

/sbin/MAKEDEV pty

and

/sbin/MAKEDEV tty

Apparently when i did the update script it deleted some files. I dont know if this would work for any other systems but it did at http://digitallinx.com/ .

Just a quick note I don't work there...

I contacted them about setting up PBX in a flash there and they were very receptive. I had some directions i found http://chrisschuld.com/2008/11/installing-pbx-in-a-flash-piaf-on-an-openvz-vps/ on how to install. I uploaded the files referenced and they did the rest. It working very well. The resolution to the issue was discovered and fixed by them. I'm a happy camper and the price is great.
