Cant login to webmin after install. Tried most iterations including root. Web search says that in the /etc/webmin directory or so there is a changepass.pl file. This doesnt appear to be the case.

Does any one know the default password on installation of webmin?

How do I change the password if I cant get in?

How would I go about uninstalling/reinstalling webmin easily to put in new password?

And just where is changepass.pl? (is there a centos command that will search the drive for a file?)

Thanks!

To quote from the install manual:-

type the following command where admin is the username you wish to set up and foo is the password you’ve chosen for the admininstrator account. HINT: Don’t use admin and foo as your username and password for WebMin unless you want your server trashed!

/usr/libexec/webmin/changepass.pl /etc/webmin admin foo

And to search for a file -

cd /
find -name filename

You can also run passwd-master from the CLI and "fix" the password there. Webmin will then use user root and whatever your root password is.... just type help-pbx to find this.

I didnt see it in TFM. Just like the passwords: admin/admin
maint/... If they are in one place I would love to know for future reference. Just like the changepass.pl not being around. PinaF is really easy to install, its just those little things that I had to hunt for :)
