I guess I am really missing something here  Always use ssh to reboot. I want to give the benefit of restarting pbxiaf through a button to customer. I can't find it in FreePBX. Where is it? lol

Thanks

Oh yeah, that is the 1dI0t button on the front of the box. I have had my customers push that one sometimes too. against my will anyway...

PiaF should not need to be restarted. If it does, there is an underlying problem that needs to be fixed.

Suggesting to the customer that the system may need to be rebooted is not good, it does nt inspire confidence. when did anyone last have to reboot a proprietary PBX. It rarely fixes anything anyway.

If it needs to be switched off, ie, planned power outage, get them dab the off botton on the front, and wait until it goes quiet and lights go off.

Alternatively, install usermin, and give them rights to reboot from there.

Well, this guy touches everything anyways. I have learned my lesson about not giving access but now I can't deny him the right to reboot. If it makes him happy then might as well. Anyhow, I can give him webmin but I really don't like the idea. Is there anyway I can provide him with a link which would trigger a bash file to do a shutdown -r or something?

Hi

Usermin is an addon to webmin, you can install via the webmin screen.

You can give him access to only where you allow him in Usermin, it has an ACL access system.
