Hi Guys, Everything has been working great on my PBX box. The OS and certain modules(PHPMyAdmin, Mysql, etc..) are a bit outdated though. Does PIAF handle these updates itself or can I update this on my own without breaking anything? I don't know what versions are supported and what is considered experimental. Below are my current stats.

MySQL

  • Server: Localhost via UNIX socket
  • Server version: 5.1.66
  • Protocol version: 10
  • MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)
Web server

  • Apache/2.2.15 (CentOS)
  • MySQL client version: 5.1.66
  • PHP extension: mysql

phpMyAdmin

  • Version information: 3.4.7.1, latest stable version: 4.2.8

Viperlx Depends on a lot of things. Mainly which iteration of PIAF you are using. Please post the output of 'status' with the private info censored.

Not sure what you meant by the status output but here is some more info.

Core Version 2.11.0.30

We mean not at the Asterisk CLI (not asterisk -vvvr) but in the basic SSH session, in the same place you type the asterisk -vvvr.
Code:
root@incrediblepbx:~# status

sorry. here you go

Running Asterisk Version = 11.2.1
Asterisk Source Version = 1.8.20.1
That sticks out to me. Doesn't seem normal.

Regardless, you're on CentOS 6.3. There were releases for 6.4, 6.5, and most recently 7 for PIAF. I've seen people running older, though (PIAF 1.7.x and even one with Asterisk 1.4 not too long ago).
If you don't *need* something that requires upgrading, IMO I'd leave it along. Many things (IIRC FreePBX heavily) depend on specific versions of software (PHP, httpd, MySQL). PHPMyAdmin should be fine to upgrade if you know what you are doing.

Everything works but I like to update things for security purposes.

CentOS 6.3 is a platform that is no longer supported by anybody. Once you begin upgrading individual components, you're probably going to irreparably break something. Rather than do that, spend the time and do it right. Install PIAF 3 (PIAF-Green) with CentOS 6.5, Asterisk 11, and FreePBX 2.11 and copy your settings over.

Thanks. I ended up using an Amazon AMI last year to set this up. Looks like I have a reason for a new project!
