TIPS Best Way To Upgrade On Raspberry Pi (I am Confused)

Hi, I started running PBXIAF on a Raspberry Pi about 18 months ago. My install uses FreePBX and it's working great.

Only problem is that when you try and shutdown the Pi, it doesn't shutdown - it restarts.

Rather than spend hours trying to debug this in the middle of the night, I thought I'd simply do a fresh install on a new Pi (the one with the four USB ports) and restore my FreePBX backup from my current Pi.

Well, looks like the latest version of PBXIAF does not include FreePBX but Incredible Pi instead. Can I still restore from my FreePBX backup?

Is there a better way to accomplish what I want to do? I am a bit confused...

Thanks

Richard

@Richard Guy: If you have a working system except for the shutdown, you're doing as well as you're likely to do on the Raspberry Pi platform. Unplug the existing Pi, move the microUSB card to the new Pi, and boot. Then call it a day.

There's plenty of documentation on the forums and Nerd Vittles on how to make a backup image of your setup for a rainy day. You might do that as well before moving to the new hardware.

Thanks for the reply. This would work. :-) but I still want to fix the shutdown issue as I'm worried about corrupting the SD card.

Is it possible to download the original install file I used when I set up my first pi last year? Are they archived somewhere?

Thanks!

ok great so if I do this from the command line, then unplug (don't shutdown) it should work?

here's what I have right now:

Incredible PBX 3.11.8 for Raspberry Pi B
Ast 11.3.0-rc1 FreePBX 2.11.0.34

Is this still available for download?

thanks.

@Richard Guy: Try this...
Code:
amportal stop
/etc/init.d/mysql stop
service apache2 stop
/etc/init.d/halt stop

...ok finally I am able to follow-up. Upon issuing these commands, the Pi reboots. :-( In the end I just shutdown mysql and apache, and then unplugged. :-(

There's a pretty interesting discussion about rebooting Pis here:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=85628

unfortunately, none of the listed fixes that I tried worked for me.

So I went ahead and started using the latest Incredible PBX on the newer Raspberry Pi (with the four USB ports). I simply copied the settings over from my old Pi before I unplugged it. Everything is working great, and it shuts down perfectly. :)
