I recently took advantage of the HiFormance deal, which is great! I've been playing around with Incredible PBX and it's cool system. Inbound/outbound calls with my GV number works perfectly. However, I cannot get the voicemail to work and call recordings are non existent.

Issue 1 - GV-SIP No Voicemail
My GV account shows 2 Obitalk entries. First one shows GV1XXXXXXXXX and the other one simply shows Obitalk Device. If both of them are unchecked I can continue to make outbound calls. Inbound calls don't ring my phone and my GV voicemail picks up about 30 seconds in. I then receive a missed phone call email. In order for inbound calls to work I need to have both Obitalk Talk devices checked, but then my Incredible PBX voicemail doesn't pick up.

My settings for this extension (702) are as follows.
Extensions>Voicemail - Snapshot here
Extensions> Find Me/Follow Me - Snapshot here (NOTE: Despite having a ring time of 30 seconds, inbound calls always cut off at the 20 second mark)
Extensions>Available- Snapshot here
Settings>Voicemail Admin - No changes made

I confirmed that the unavail and busy recordings are located in /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/702. There are 2 recordings of each type with the only thing being different is the file extension being capitalized.

Unless I'm missing a setting somewhere, there should be no reason why the voicemail shouldn't pick up and then email me the recording.

Does anybody know if there is a setting I missed somewhere or something else I should check for in the logs?

Issue 2 - No Call Recordings
UCP shows all of my calls in "Call History" and "Call Event Logs" However, there are no links to the actual call recordings.
Applications>Call Recordings is set as follows

Description- 702
Call Recording Mode- Force
Destination- Extensions 702

Outbound Routes-GVSIP-Host-Out
Additional Settings>Call Recording= Force

Inbound Routes-Destination set to trunk:freepbx-remote server (sip)
Other>Call Recording=Force
Enable Superfecta Lookup=Yes
Superfect Scheme=All

Extensions-702
Advanced>Recording Options= Force selected for All, Disabled on Demand Recording, Record Priority Policy= 10

Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix the call recording feature?

Thank you for your time.

Can anybody else confirm if their voicemail and call recording is working?

I can say with certainty that call recordings work. I can't do the same with voicemail because I pass the call to another server for that function, but I would be very surprised to find out voicemail does not work.

I'm also pleased to report that TLS and SRTP seems to be working with the latest patches!

Do you recall if you used any different settings than what I posted for my settings. It's a brand new installation, so I assume it would work out of the box.

With respect to your issue 1, I believe the GV1XXXXXXXXXX (were there really only 9 Xes?) is a hold-over from Bill Simon's GVGW. If so, it can safely be deleted. "OBITALK Device" is what was created by the GVsip code. What does FreePBX > Settings > Voicemail Admin show?

With respect to issue 2, is there any recording symbol in FreePBX > Reports > CDR Reports output?

I tend to use outgoing and incoming routes to initiate recordings from, not endpoints.

If none of the above yields fruit, I suspect it's time to dig into the Asterisk logs to see what's going on.

@Merlin: I'd recommend you go through the upgrade procedure in today's Nerd Vittles article and see if that fixes the issue. If not we can press on from there. Lots has changed in the last week.

I followed the instructions and noticed I still had GV listed in Motif, so I deleted it and redid the entire setup. GVSIP inbound/outbound works great, but the voicemail is still not picking up. As a temporary solution I've unticked the Obitalk Device so my original voicemail picks up and I can still make outbound calls. It's not ideal, but it works for now. I couldn't see any errors in the log,

That was a good catch. I deleted that extra entry.

Quick question, are you using the Find Me/Follow Me to an external number to catch the voicemails? I tried putting in one of Anveo numbers from my Wazo server in the follow-me list and could not get the system to ring the Incredible PBX system extension AND External number. It only does the former for exactly 20 seconds despite trying ringallv2, ringall and hunt, as well as playing around with "initial ring time" and "ring time" in Applications>Follow Me.

There are no recordings at all listed in that column, nor are they listed in UCP for the 100+ calls I've made/received in the last week.

I didn't mess with FreePBX > Settings > Voicemail Admin show at all. Usage shows 1 activated, 1 unactivated and 1 disabled. Everything below that has NO selected. There are a lot of things listed in Settings and Dialplan Behavior. Is there something that I should be looking for or would a screenshot help?

I've got my Anveo/Voip.ms numbers working great on my Wazo server, but I'd love to port everything over to Incredible PBX once I work out a few kinks.

Thanks again for the help guys. I really appreciate it.

UPDATE: I canned the original server and reinstalled everything using the aforementioned article. Everything works great now! VM is picking up and being emailed to me. Recordings are showing up too. I must have screwed something up before.

I also setup a weekly cron job to move the backup to Gdrive.

For a whopping $1 a month you can't beat it!
