Normally, uptime is excellent. I've had one minor glitch when a fiber was cut and then this data center outage. They are tenants in the data center so I can't blame them for the outage.

Do you know whose data center they are located at? There are so many of them in Ashburn, VA.
It's surprising though. Power issues are said to be so well mitigated nowadays - at least according to the data center operators to whom I spoke recently. I was down there just a couple of weeks ago touring various suppliers as I was looking for co-location space. The 6 or 7 data centers that I visited all told me that power and network issues just couldn't happen thanks to redundancies, backups, etc.
It would be enlightening to understand what actually happened to FRC's DC.

IAD4 is located at 13873 Park Center Road Herndon, VA 20171. It's an Atlantic Metro asset located right across the highway from Dulles Airport.

Reminds me of one data center I was renting space in San Francisco in the late 90's. Earthquake et al; pre-emptive power shut-down at PG&E. Natural gas burning generators all down after depleting what was in their pressure regulation tanks.
