FOOD FOR THOUGHT BulkVS.com -- Great Origination/Termination/TF rates!

You'd need one of the newest, fastest PI's (like the Pi 4B) to run current releases of Asterisk and FreePBX. You probably could set it up and then move it. You'd have to go into the Settings > Asterisk SIP Settings and make sure the external IP is discovered and that the local LAN is showing. Hopefully, work would have a fixed IP address.

Also, since the RasPI is in short supply, check out Ward's article on a better replacement: https://nerdvittles.com/raspberry-pi-killer-the-100-beelink-t4-pro/

thanks, would you know if the Incredible PBX 2022 will work on a rasp b+ version? I prefer the Incredible PBX 2022 mostly because of the avantfax still working, whereas i think the 2027 version has a fax workaround but like the 2022 version

I don't use RasPI's so I can't say. Perhaps @wardmundy can comment.
hey just a quick question unrelated but about the ivr with tts.

are text to speech used to generate .wav or they are just words and can play those words when someone calls in ivr?

For your bulkvs trunk, in the peer details section put a line that reads defaultexpiry=25
That will only affect your bulkvs trunk. It will make the registration expire in 25 seconds and force to re-register.
I tried to put this line in incrediblepbx2022, but it doesn't work.. i put in peers both outbound and inbound sections, and try with either outbound or inbound only with that line, still doesn't work and fetch information from asterisk sip settings.. anything i can do?
@wardmundy is there anyway we can have a section for trunks to edit the default expiry that takes priority over the asterisk default expiry section? (in my name, i have 2 trunks and both trunks require different value or expiry/internal

I don't think that is possible because the setting is in the global SIP settings.

I see.

So in this case, im trying to have chansip legacy with freephoneline and pjsip with bulkvs, i believe that way we can have different expiry internal registration times.

In the https://nerdvittles.com/another-bargain-sip-provider-for-incredible-pbx-platforms/, it says

A. Do I put my DID like 15148888888 as following?

[from-sip-external]
; BulkVS
exten => 18005551212,3,Goto(from-trunk,${15148888888},1)

B. Or 15148888888 should be replacing the "18005551212" as:

[from-sip-external]
; BulkVS
exten => 15148888888,3,Goto(from-trunk,${DID},1)

1. not sure which syntax is it ? A or B?
2. what are those lines for?

Why in the world is sip-external being used for this? Nothing should hit that will properly configured trunks. It should never be used for real routing.

I'm not certain the rates are the same in Canada and the USA. I pay $0.0003 per outbound minute and $0.06 per DID/month. E911 is $0.49 per number. I have multiple locations so I have one DID registered for E911 at each location and route any calls for 911 using the correct emergency number to identify the location.
which one is cheaper for a small business? voips.ms or bulkvs would you recommend with incrediblepbx in terms of pricing, with a did, and incoming and outgoing local calls in canada? I assume incoming must have cnam cost included too.
I prefer bulkvs, but that's a personal preference.

I've been using Bulkcvs since 2019. Pretty much flawless!

Where is Bulkvs located?

I assume their tax rate is close to 100% because it seems that the actual per minute rate is close to $0.01/min even if the rate is $0.0003 per outbound minute

The outbound rate is $0.004.

Good question. The website lists the street address and suite but not the City or State. I was looking at that myself as I was figuring out their pricing from the website. I can't find anyplace in the US or Canada with that street address that would be them.

That explains the high tax rate
Not really. BulkVS is only registered in Delaware which means they can't charge state taxes or local taxes outside of that state. What they do charge is the FUSF (Federal Universal Service Fund) fee which is a percentage calculated against your termination usage.

Now if you are actually in Delaware then yeah your taxes would probably higher since they can charge more taxes there.

I am having issues with inbound routing

What is the preferred way to configure BulkVS trunks in incrediblePBX 2027 U in the cloud ?

too many of incoming calls gets "no service" message - the voice sounds more like the famous IVR actress than the usual male voice, so I think it is my asterisk setup.

Asterisk log shows some errors

WARNING[102892][C-00000029] Ext. s: "Rejecting unknown SIP connection from 69.12.88.198"

I used the BulkVS "official" PDF instructions from their Interconnection instructions-IP based authentication page, it is for Freepbx 14.0.45

I already setip the "pjsip trunk Match rules" but their PDF is using chan_sip trunks

basically making 4 different chan_sip trunks for each SBC IP

I see this thread talks about changing ports for PJSIP 5061 to fix the same issue
I am not sure if I want to mess with the ports
