When I use Swift in the extensions_custom.conf file I get NAG "This voice is not licensed" if i use SayText in the extensions_custom.conf it works fine.

When I tried to register the license with swift --register it wouldn't work, it kept giving me "The information you have entered is invalid!", the only way I could register it was using Digium's Register program.

I was wondering if there is any difference between Swift and Saytext commands when used in the extensions_custom.conf file or anywhere else.

I had the same problem. Sent email to Digium and they told me to use the register program and "SayText". That's ok unless you need to create custom recordings. I can't manage to do that without the nag. Not much help from Digium.

I have seen this when the Voice Name you enter is not exactly correct.

The way its listed on your email from Cepstral - It looks like this:

Allison-8kHz for Linux (v5.x)

What you really must enter is only this much of it:
Allison-8kHz

Let me know if this helps -

tshif, I tried with Allison-8kHz, the key from Digium is different then what you get from Cepstral the Digium key is CEP-XXXXXXXXXXXX vs. the key from Cepstral is xx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx

Digium provides free support. You might want to give them a call. ;)
