When i add a new recording via my Extension im running into a small problem. I record the "recording" it plays back just fine. The funny thing is when i go into the website and try to listen to it, i cant. I get another box that pops up that says playing recording and what looks like some kind of plugin error, ? thru quicktime. I can play recordings ive uploaded just not ones ive recorded thru my headset. What gives??

Rather then playing file file in your browser, can you download and play?
I use a plug-in called VLC for my browser:

I don't like to wait for quicktime. You might want to give it a try.

Several of us have the same problem playing system recordings via the web browser. But I cant get the freepbx guys to admit its a problem with the system recording module.

The extension recording/playback module works just fine via the browser and quicktime.

only thing is, the 2 modules that playback recordings have been designed to use quicktime, and the extension recording/payback modules uses layers to show/hide the quicktime plugin inside the list

You're right - I should have checked. Still like VLC as a media player though ;)

Found it for those that want to know..../var/lib/asterisk/sounds/custom/

Weird...I converted the wav file to a mp3 via this command...(sox test.wav test.mp3) and now i can listen to it in the browser.

One other thing...What program would you or do you use to record your "recordings" on a windows or linux box? I may just start recording them and uploading instead of doing it thru the extension/system.

I have a special IVR that lets me record/update my needed recordings. It will also playback the recording over the phone - hence I can not listen to them via the browser etc.

I can also do this remote on a inbound line. Mine is a movie theater setup for show listings etc.
