Just curious whether there would be interest in a PIAF Training Seminar in Charleston, SC? The plan is to do 2.5 days and try to hold the cost to $1,000 + your room, meals, and airfare.

We did one this summer on the West Coast. Thought you might be interested in a note I received from one of the participants this week:

I was the young kid who attended your asterisk seminar in Portland, Oregon a while back. I wanted to say thanks again for your seminar, I really enjoyed it... I have since gone on to build 2 [LAMP / Free PBX] boxes for the court where I work.

I am setting up a backup court-wide PBX in case of emergency, using sip trunks to overcome long distance phone charges between branches, integrating it with our existing Avaya PBX, and I've even created a IVR for all Judges to call into and leave voice mail recordings that email to their assistants while on the road... "a traveling dictation service". I've also set up Asterisk to act as a gateway between soft phones with web cameras, and our standards-based video conference systems... allowing Judges to video conference from anywhere, anytime...

We we're looking at purchasing a $50,000.00 box to do this, and now I've got my asterisk system doing it for free... amazing!

Your seminar was super cool, and gave me enough knowledge to really dive into this system. Thanks.

I missed the Oregon seminar, and would definitely plan to attend.

I would definitely be interested, when are you thinking about having this?

I'd be very interested in going, especially if you can get something setup in October or in the spring.

Timing kinda depends upon the headcount. If you have a preference, please indicate it in your responses. Thanks.

Here's where we're thinking about holding the training sessions... free WiFi. ;)

We're also exploring whether to do something more akin to a Users Group meeting, lower the registration fee to something like $250 (we still have to pay for lots of stuff!), and perhaps attract a much broader group of participants some of whom could also do presentations during the meeting. What do you think?

Spring is also looking more likely as October is barely a month away.

And you wonder why we call you Uncle Ward?

Ward I am interested I already have a 1 week commitment the first week of October myself.

We'll need to see a good bit more enthusiasm before we tackle setting up either a training session or a users group meeting with speakers. So if you're interested, kindly post your preference AND the thickness of your wallet.

Ward,

I'm always in at the $250 level. Higher prices require more justification. Keep us posted.

Thanks.

Ward,
You can count me in. The first OTTS conference was excellent, and it was great being around like-minded people.
