I have a new system I am setting up. The MWI does not appear to be working. I am reasonably sure that it was working several days ago. I have Aastra and Grandstream phones that both display MWI properly on an existing system but not on the new one. So I am confident it is a PBX issue and not a phone issue.

I am not even sure where to start looking. MWI has always "just worked" in the past. When searching the forum, most MWI issues seem to be related to the phone. Where should I be looking?

Using:
PiaF Version 1.7.5.5
Asterisk version 1.6.2.13
FreePBX Version 2.6.0.2

Thanks

This has happened to me in the past. Do you have email addresses setup directly in the extension? If so try removing the email address and applying the settings. Reset the phone and test.

I know it sounds crazy but I've had this problem on new extensions more than once.

I know it sounds crazy but I've had this problem on new extensions more than once.

There were no addresses in the extension I was testing. I tried adding a address and setting the email attachment setting. Did not make a difference.

I then tried:
- delete the extension
- apply config
- adding extension with same information
- apply config
- reboot phone
It now works properly.

I will be onsite tomorrow and will try removing and replacing some of the extensions with email addresses already applied and report findings.

Thanks for the help!

Just to follow up on this. I had about 10 extensions with the issue. I tried a few combinations of deleting the email address and or turning off VM for the extension. The only thing that seemed to work was to delete the extension and create a new extension with the same information. All seems to be working well now.

Thanks.
