I have a PBX that will not register remote extensions, and trixbox in the same place, same IP settings, same phones, same extensions and configs will register and work very well.
IPtables, Ip6tables and fail2ban are OFFLINE, still no remote registration with PIAF...

(this also shows Zap/Dahdi=Unknown, does this affect it?)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Asterisk = ONLINE | Zap/Dahdi = UNKNOWN | MySQL = ONLINE │
│ SSH = ONLINE | Apache = ONLINE | Iptables = OFFLINE │
│ Fail2ban = OFFLINE | Internet = ONLINE | Ip6Tables = OFFLINE │
│ BlueTooth = ONLINE | Hidd = ONLINE | NTPD = ONLINE │
│ SendMail = ONLINE | Samba = OFFLINE | Webmin = ONLINE │
│ Ethernet0 = ONLINE | Ethernet1 = N/A | Wlan0 = N/A

If I understand correctly, replacing PiaF with a Trixbox, the remote extensions work. I'm assuming that the local extensions work fine with PiaF?

When creating extensions with FreePBX, the default setting is NAT=yes so that shouldn't be a problem. What is your /etc/asterisk/sip-nat.conf file set for? Here's a webpage that might assist you in slipping sip past the firewall.

You are right. Trixbox works fine. Local extensions on PIAF work fine, and get this! I can hook up a remote phone from Las Vegas on this PIAF system but not the others that i need in the other office, trying the same extensions in both.
Sip-nat files are the same in both systems. Remote phone in Vegas works well. Remote phones in San Antonio work fine on the Trixbox. Firewalls are ruled out. Configs are ruled out. I know it sounds strange, and short of scrapping out and starting over, I want to find out why this is.

Are you sure the registration attempts are reaching the box? Try a capture with a hub and wireshark to see the if the registrations are even getting to the server. Registration shouldn't be an issue with the system. Audio, maybe a configuration glitch, but if there's no registration happening and you've got the right configs, it's probably network related.

Is there a command on the CLI in PIAF to watch what is going on and if the registrations are reaching the box?

Im having a similar issue with a clean install of Piaf Purple 64bit. I connected my handsets and softphone to 3 other PBX's (elastix) in different locations no problem.
I even turn off firewall on location where phones are and PBX side no go.

Is there a command on the CLI in PIAF to watch what is going on and if the registrations are reaching the box?
Do "asterisk -vvvvvr" and then to see if the phones are registered or not, do a "sip show peers" or "iax2 show peers". This will also show all Asterisk activity - calls, registrations, etc.

I have done that and nothing is registering. I final decided to format box and install a older version and see what I get.
