FOOD FOR THOUGHT DIDforSale????

Nope, you shouldn't need anything there.When you call, do you still get an error message?

You can use a dial rule like this...

1NXXNXXXXXX
1+NXXNXXXXXX

Then if you don't dial a "1" it will add it, if you do dial it, it will just pass it to the provider.

If you're in the 222 area code, for example, you could also add a dial rule like this:

1222+NXXXXXX

in addition to the rules listed by tabbertmj, to accomplish 7-digit dialing for local numbers

Anyone in the forum successfully testing DIDFORSALE. I signed up, chose a DID, and point it to my server's IP address. Follow Ward's Trunk configuration (and also tried the trunk configuration on the didforsale.com site) but no luck getting the call to come into my server. Everytime that I dial the number I get a message taht says: " Your call did not go through".

The trunk is registered with the didforsale saerver, and I have the correct incoming route for it, but no dice, so I am wandering if it has something to do with having only a test DID as opposed to a paid one. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
markiper

The test number I had worked great. I is only good for 24 hours.
My paid number works great. Do you see anything in the Asterisk cli when you call?

nothing on the CLI

Do you mind posting your trunk configuration, or is it the same as Ward'S first post?

Regards,
markiper

I used this exact config in my trunk ... under peer details. I set an inbound route up by using my test 11-digit number as the DID Number ... and set the destination. When I call the DID from them, I see the following hit my server, but never do I hear anything on the phone...ideas?

problem solved

I am impressed with their technical support. I sent them an e-mail this morning to see if they saw a problem from their side as I was not getting anything hitting my PBXiaFlash server. Within 10 15 minutes of that e-mail someone from their technical staff called me, and he was able to see that the IP addres registered on their server had a blank space at the end of the string, creating my issue.

I just placed a test call with about 7 participants on ca conference call, and sound quality is great, especially for being paying only $8.99 a month.

My trunk configuration ended up as follows:

Trunk Name: did4sale
Peer Details:
type=peer
host=209.216.2.211
nat=yes
canrinvite=yes
disallow=all
allow=ulaw&alaw
dtmfmode=auto
insecure=very
context=from-trunk
qualify=yes

Let us hope that their cal quality stays the same, and their technical support also.

markiper

there tech support is great. although being a newbie and figuring out the solution before they did. however it was great customer service and the quality of the service is awesome....

i would suggest everyone get one.

UPDATE on DiD For Sale Support

Well time has taken its toll - there support motivation seems to have disappeared.
I have been with them since they started and suddenly on two separate occasions their outgoing service died.
Been three hours since several emails and chat sessions and no one from tech support has been heard from. All you get is placating effusiveness from India based sales support chat service.
Time to reconsider the old line "you get what you pay for"

Instead of apologizing, and forcing us all to read the large text, why don't you customize your specific computer?

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...isplay_use_large_or_small_fonts.mspx?mfr=true

If you don't want to increase the font size for everything related to windows, then there are alternatives:

Magnifier - Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Accessibility or Ease of Use (Depending on your OS)

Browser only: Hold Down the Ctrl key and press the + key until the size is right

I'm confused...you say you're having problems with their outgoing service. Isn't DIDforSale an incoming-only provider?

They also provide outbound for 0.08/min in the US ... other markets around the globe available. They only have one location I believe in the US (California) with unspecified carriers ... granted I didn't ask who the carriers were either, but what the heck, back 'em up with an additional outbound trunk ...

I do believe you meant $.008/min. It is actually .00875 but they do charge .00475/min for toll-free. Alaska is .042375. They will send you a complete rate list if you email them. They were very responsive to my request. Inbound calling seemed really laggy in my test. Like a good second. What are others experiences?

I've been with them just over 2 years and I've only had 2 hiccups that didn't last long. One was early this year when one of their carriers started sending inbound traffic in a format my PBX didn't recognize and that was quickly fixed. It only affected a few numbers.
Then yesterday a few numbers were giving a message that the number was out of service. Overall I would give them an "A" if you compare them with other providers.
I never experienced any lag in calls coming in and I manage DIDs from them for 4 small call termination companies.

Robin.
