You might also consider FS PBX (www.fspbx.com), a multi-tenant, open-source system based on Freeswitch. It's used in production by numerous companies worldwide, supports redundant servers, and is very user-friendly. Paid US-based support is available if needed. I am the lead developer, and recently, many unhappy 3CX users have been reaching out to us.

Ward wrote a whole review about it some time ago. Since then, we have added many AI features and further improved the system.

How hard is hooking up a

Fanvil X7C V1 and/or Fanvil X4U V2 ?

If I got this .. would this be enough ?


I'm in Toronto. I don't know if New York is too far ?

That server might be excessive for only two lines. The minimum requirement is 4 GB of RAM. We have templates for Fanvil phones, but I haven’t looked at them in a while. They should work, though. We’ve been creating newer and more optimized templates for other phones recently, and if we had access to Fanvil, we could optimize those as well.

I’m not trying to discourage you, but why do you need a whole VoIP server for just two lines? Wouldn’t it be easier and cheaper to get a hosted service from someone else?

I am in need of a quick temporary solution.

As it is now my DID is forwarding to a iOS SIP client. It's not great.

You could run it locally on something like a Raspberry Pi. After all, this forum also has Incredible PBX which you could run locally on a PC also

The good old days.

I did successfully installed debian on a LXC container on my UNRAID and installed 3CX on it. Seems to be working well. All the phones are provisioned.


Gotta deal with this tomorrow.


EDIT: small gotcha. The 3CX LCX container changed IPs on e as I was rebooting the router / port forwarding / etc etc.
