Hi,
I have a question. I am using PIAF Green with Google Voice Trunk.
How can I make the PBX to dial a local dispatcher number when dialing 911 on the IP Phones?
Since 911 does not work with Google Voice trunk I would like to configure the system so when someone dials 911, the PBX calls a local number XXX-XXX-XXXX to get to the 911 dispatcher.
I would appreciate any help, I've been searching the threads on the forum, but did not find an answer to this.
Thank you in advance,
Zeek

I believe I found the answer.

From the HOW TO's
There are several ways to create a system-wide speed dial number in FreePBX:
1. Create an outbound route. In the dial pattern rules, set the speed-dial number as the prefix. Set the actual number to dial as the prepend. This method has the advantage of allowing you to use the outbound routes caller-id feature to set a specific caller ID for calls made to the speed dial number and to choose which trunks to use when calling that number.

I won't get into using GV for 911, relayed via a different number or otherwise. You want something like this. Note that with GV you will not be able to spoof a CID number like your quote above says.

lgaetz That's just my brain being dumb. :) I knew in my head what I was trying to do but swapped the boxes. Thanks for the catch.

Again, still assuming I am understanding. OP uses GV as his outbound trunk. His local 911 answering station allows for 911-equivalent dialing with a local number. Wants to have local number dialed when users dial 911 on their phones.

Thank you all for the replies, as I mentioned it on my second post, I followed the HOW TO's and was able to make it work.
