I am looking to use the Aastra 560M connected to a Aastra 57i to monitor user call status for all users on the phone system. I have read as much about this device as google will supply me, but it looks like the only option to configure the 560M is to create the extensions to monitor manually via the MAC.cfg. With the lovelly Aastra XML scripts I find this hard to believe. Is is possible to pull the call status of all extensions from the phone system automagically?

I am still holding out hope that the Aastra can pull information directly from the phone system. Please tell me its true?

You are correct - with the current version of XML scripts you can only add sidecar information manually in the cfg file.

Also to consider, if you do that, but then logout and back in again, those manual additions will be lost.

So very annoying. I would have thought with all the XML applications etc that have been created someone would have built something for the sidecars.

There is nothing stopping you from building it yourself and sharing with the community...
Aastra provides decent documentation and examples on their XML implementation...

They are also one of the very few phone companies who does provide additional useful applications without charging or licensing.

Developing something like this is exactly what we are going to try to do.
