Aastra 57i - BLF on the line buttons?

I just switched my (small) office over from an analog Panasonic system and we are now using Aastra 57i phones. One feature we are missing is the ability to easily see if someone else is on the phone before answering an incoming call. When the phone rings the employees in the back would first look to see if anyone was on the phone and if so they would answer, otherwise they would let it ring knowing that it would be picked up in the front office.

However, if I am reading the manual for the Aastra phones correctly, I can only use the soft buttons as BLF's, which would be awkward in our setup. Is there any way to somehow force the Line buttons to act as BLF's?

Set up a Ring group that only rings in the back if the front Extensions are busy or after x number of seconds..
